Join the United States Power Squadrons

Who Can Join USPS?
Active membership in USPS is open to those 18 years and older who are willing and able to contribute time, energy, and skills to the objectives of USPS.

Why Join USPS?

  • Education of Members
    Experienced instructors teach marine-related subjects, such as: Seamanship; Piloting; Coastal, Electronic, and Celestial Navigation; Marine Electronics; Weather; Sailing; Engine Maintenance; and Cruise Planning.
  • Participation in Civic Programs
    Become involved in boat safety courses for the public, chart corrections for NOAA, updating tide and current data for the Office of Earth Science, and participate in National Safe Boating Week.
  • Friendship and Camaraderie On and Off the Water
    Enjoy cruises, rendezvous, sail races, navigation contests, fishing derbies, raft-ups, predicted log contests, marine programs, parties, dinner-dances, picnics, educational programs, and more. Most harbors within the continental United States have a Squadron Port Captain who can advise members about local facilities and conditions.
